That Gruesome Cartoon Movie Conclusion That Haunts Viewers

Out of every adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve ever viewed, nothing has stuck with me quite like the dread-soaked finale of the graphically gory and highly provocative film from 2022 The Unicorn Wars.

In 2015’s, this Spain-based filmmaker created a grim, melancholy , frequently brutal world with a few small , forlorn twinges of optimism.

Although The Unicorn Wars feels like it originated from a drive to expand the medium even more, the director stated that it was more an attempt to express a widespread, cross-cultural message about “the common origin of all wars.”

That idea is expressed by means of a squad of vividly colored bears , openly inspired by a well-known series of lovable figures.

Growing up in a community centered on militarism as well as the defense industry, many of the bears are consumed by slaughtering the mythical beasts, because of a holy book which states them they used to be masters of the forest, until the unicorns drove them out.

Others haven’t fully fallen for the propaganda, and prefer to experiment with substances or mate in the forest.

In contrast to their gentle counterparts, these colorful critters display genitals and definite urges.

For one particularly cruel, pessimistic creature, the bear named Bluey, the conflict against the unicorns turns into a road to control — and especially to supremacy above his more tender, more compassionate sibling the bear Tubby.

This bear acts as a tormentor , a seeming psychopath , and as fear dominates his squad and kills his comrades sequentially, he seizes increasingly power on his own behalf, through ever more bloody, harmful methods.

At the same time, the horned creatures are suffering their own terror, as a growing, deadly beast in their forest.

“In the early stages, it appears as a humorous movie,” the filmmaker said. “However it becomes a more intense and sad film. And ultimately, it becomes a scary feature.”

The Unicorn Wars begins resembling one of the more whimsical features by an iconic filmmaker, which find a wicked pleasure in letting drawn beings swear, fire weapons, or engage sexually.

Subsequently it turns into more akin to a darker work from the same creator, with increasingly visual gore and a palpable connection to genuine suffering of war.

Ultimately, it is a full-on theatrical horror massacre.

The fear that turns this a Halloween-friendly watch starts well before than one might expect.

The Unicorn Wars is one for the most dedicated lovers of violence, for enthusiasts of intense movies who desire to watch a film they haven’t ever viewed until now, and can endure a narrative that offers no restraint.

View it in a dark room with no disturbances, and the conclusion will crawl deep within you and stay with you.
