Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

US entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved television series like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, per media reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family shared in a announcement.

They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, like:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.

His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.

Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his family.
