Passionate followers of Ariana Grande are demanding that a person who leaped a fence and grabbed the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good debut be detained or removed from Singapore.

A viral clip reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside media personnel and rushing toward Grande while the cast walked down a yellow carpet surrounded by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the gathering by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being arrested", though legal records indicated that he was due to attend court on the next day. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

Pattern of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram profile contains videos of him disturbing other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the city last December.

"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is clearly a punishable act," stated an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" one Instagram user remarked.

Fans Express Concern Over Ariana's Well-being

Several fans accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding many.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented another comment on Instagram.

Several supporters also questioned event staff at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while others demanded online networks to remove Mr Wen's uploads.

Response and Premiere Information

In videos circulating online, Grande looked surprised when she was approached by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Many of fans had congregated in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore venue, including some who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The movie, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-film adaptation of the popular stage show Wicked, which focuses on the surprising relationship between two contrasting characters.

The production itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was dressed in a light pink sparkling outfit at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning film of last year in the UK, and scored a dozen Oscar nominations, winning a pair for outstanding attire and set decoration.
